Special Event Next Weekend

Capt. Scooby is getting everything ready for the Fly Fish Texas event in Athens, TX on March 11. This venue will have 500-1500 people in attendance. Check out the website link and speaker tab for details.

Capt. Scooby will be speaking at 1:00 p.m. at this venue. His topic is Mudfish Adventures, “A New Fly Guide on Toledo Bend” (fishing the back country). Capt. Scooby will also have his custom built Gator-Tail 1760 with the modified mud motor on display on the grounds. Bruce Sublett will also be speaking at 12:00 p.m. and Bill Heugel will speaking at 2:00 p.m. You really need to attend this event for the day if you can.

Capt. Scooby has been working closely with Bruce Sublett of Goflies.com to develop bass fishing flies that will catch a trophy record black bass on Toledo Bend. Toledo Bend has been the number one bass lake in the country for the last two years in a row according to Bassmaster magazine.
It’s R&D Thursday on Toledo Bend

Check out the picture of the big yellow box! It contains flies (Ugly Baby, Stealth Goober, Hot Cone Liz Jr., Goober Bug, Death to Crappie (Clouser Minnow) all by Bruce Sublett). Notice the smaller prototype box that I can’t open yet because it’s Top Secret.

Capt. Scooby would like to thank the fly fishing community, fly clubs, kayak clubs, fly tying conclaves and fly tiers across the country that have supported Mudfish Adventures guide service. Mudfish Adventures is committed to teaching the new generation about the fly fishing world. It’s not a secret anymore. You can catch big fish on a fly rod. Come with us and we will show you how!

Tight Lines, Capt. Scooby
