Capt Scooby’s update: Black Bass were enjoying the cooler waters at 80 degrees with air temp 89 and partly cloudy with 3-8 mph winds on Toledo Bend Lake today. Launched the GatorTail at FM 944 with no problems. Fly fished Housen Bay and found clear water all the way back to the start of the creek channel. Bass were schooling in small patches around Lilly pads on the creek edges. The flies used were 3”White Streamers subsurface, Black Stealth Goober, 4” White/Double Barrel topwater poppers. All floating Orvis pro lines, 30# hard mason leader, 17# tippet Mudfish (Short Flyer) one piece Fly Rods 8wt and 10wt. Come on cooler weather. I’m going back to this area again very soon. I saw some big fish surface feeding in the middle of the day!
