Capt. Scooby. Bass on the Fly!
Today’s report goes like this… SLOW and Hot. Yep with the full moon phase last night. Solar table suggested a Noon bite. Ok let’s start at 12:00pm. We’re off scouting and R&D some more of Carl Harris paddle tail pink/white flies and Mack Wilson roadkill craw in olive/brown. The water temp is at 68 degrees at the Palo Gaucho Bridge. Running the GatorTail back to the feeder creeks the temps ran up to 71 degrees. Air temp, 86 degrees with a few shad showing up on the surface.. started off with the mudfish 8WT (Short Flyer Saltwater )one piece fly rod with Orvis Reel and Orvis floating (pro line/tropical) line, attached to the road kill craw!! Bingo, two in the boat.. next… the pink paddle tail, No takers today. That’s Bass on the fly… 4:00 pm Heading to port.
Toledo Bend is very low right now. Please be careful wear your PFD. The prop and lower unit hit lots of stumps today.
